Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund for Coronavirus

The Richfield Foundation has been awarded funds from the Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund to support local businesses and non-profit organizations affected by COVID-19.

We were able to provide over $27,000 in grant funding to 13 organizations and businesses that support our community.

Children’s Dental Services - Funds will be used to support opening a dental service this summer to support low-income families.

Crossroads - Funds will be used to support a creative approach to understanding and dealing with anxiety, trauma and isolation due to the pandemic.

Fraser School - Funds will be used to support Fraser’s telehealth program.

La Casita Family Child Care - Funds will be used to purchase summer program curriculum materials, educational toys and music.

Loaves and Fishes - Funds will be used to support unplanned costs associated with the pandemic, such as disposable containers and utensils for takeaway meal service.

Local Roots Food and Coffee - Funds will be used for inventory and payroll, allowing for continued curbside pick-up.

Meals on Wheels - Funds will be used to buy frozen meals so there can be less deliveries, keeping drivers and clients safe during the pandemic.

Partnership Academy - Funds will be used to provide rental assistance, as well as food and bill paying assistance to the families of the children attending the academy.

Posters on Board - Funds will support the production of personal protective equipment, such as masks and Plexiglas shield dividers.

Senior Community Services - Funds will be used to purchase personal protective equipment for staff and volunteers.

Sheridan Story - Funds will continue to support the weekend summer food program.

Tapestry - Funds will be used to support transportation costs for food delivery.

VEAP - Funds will be used to continue to provide access to the food pantry, food delivery services and rental assistance grants.
